Warning:

  • Before you start make sure you take extra care when changing and replacing the battery modules.

  • When handling the disc, pay close attention to the 4 golden PINS (connection points) located on its back. It is crucial to prevent any damage to these PINS, as any harm may result in the SmartLock malfunctioning and requiring the disc to be replaced.

1. How to remove the disc and the battery?

In order to change and charge the batteries, you will have to remove the disc from the lock and separate the keypad from the battery by doing the following:

  • Remove the plastic ring around the disc

  • Use the removal tool as shown below

  • Hold the disc and remove the battery by twisting them in the opposite direction and unlock (clockwise)

The Disc removal tool can be found in the SmartDock (charging station) box.

2. How to charge the batteries?

In order to charge the batteries, you will need a Smartdock which is a charging dock where you can charge more than one battery at the same time.

Once the battery is separated from the keypad, you must place it in the charging dock, making sure the yellow dots are aligned and twisting it in the direction of the arrow.

After placing the battery, the green light will indicate the battery is charged and the red light the opposite.

3. When to replace the batteries?

Each SmartLock can be opened up to 52,000 times, however, the battery % will depend on the usage of the lock. By accessing the Spaces App and the Goki Dashboard, you will see if the device is running low on power and when it's time to replace the battery.

If you see the following alerts in the Spaces App, it's time to replace the batteries:

  • Battery < 10% - Low Battery (red badge= about to die)

  • Battery < 30% - Low Battery (yellow badge)

Note:

  • The battery percentage is not always accurate (about 20% tolerance), however, when a user unlocks it using the Spaces or Goki App, it gets updated (we try to read the battery and sync it with the server.)

  • You will need "Rooms permission" in order to see the battery levels on Gboard/Spaces.

4. How to replace the batteries?

If the battery % of the lock is low, it's time to replace the batteries by following the next steps:

  • Remove the battery from the disc as described above.

  • Take the fully charged battery from the SmartDock and connect it to the disc.

  • Warning: Make sure you take extra care when changing and replacing the batteries.

Put yellow dots together when reassembling the battery/disc. Otherwise, the SmartLock won't work and you won't be able to open the door.
There are 4 golden PINS (connection points) on the back of each disc that cannot be damaged, otherwise, the SmartLock will stop working and the whole disc will need to be replaced.

  • Put the disc back in the Smartlock

5. How to sync the battery?

Once the battery is replaced, we recommend you go to the Spaces App > select the space> 3-dots and click "Sync" to sync the battery.
If the battery % is not updated, close the Spaces App and open it again.
