Create a new Space (Room or Common Area)

In this article, you will learn how to create a new space from The Spaces App.

Updated over 6 months ago

New Spaces (room or common areas) can be created from your Goki Dashboard or from the Spaces App. However, before creating the spaces make sure that you are a user with

"Rooms and Common Area Doors" permissions, otherwise, you won't see this option.

Create a Room/Common Area

In order to create a new space from the App, follow the steps below:

  • Open Spaces App

  • In "Room" or "Commo area" Section Press "+" button

  • Enter Room name

  • Enter "Order Number" (Optional)

  • Enter " Floor Number" (Optional)

  • Press The Button "NEXT"

  • You can connect the room to the PMS or skip this section

Once you create rooms you are able to manage, filter, or sort them:

  • Filter

    • All Rooms

    • Battery Status (when it has a Low Battery)

    • SmartLock Time (When time is not adjusted)

  • Sort

    • You can sort rooms as convenient for you by ascending or descending orders:

      • Alphabetical

      • Creation time

      • The order which you mention for each room separately

      • Floor

Note

  • To save them on the top, you can bookmark up to 5 rooms (By dragging the room row left to right >> Press the "PIN" button)

  • To keep a collection of frequently used rooms, bookmarked rooms will appear in the "Quick" section along with nearby SmartLocks.

  • All nearby items will be shown in the "Quick" section regardless of whether they were accessed in the nearby listing.

  • The list is sorted based on Bluetooth signal strength, with bookmarked items at the top.

  • To unpin a room, go back to the "Room" section, swipe the room row from left to right, and press the "Unpin" button.

  • Limitations:

    1. For some PMS systems, Goki is integrated through a third party, so changes made in Goki will not override your PMS. For others, it's the opposite. Currently, changes made in Goki are not overridden in MEWS and Cloudbeds.

    Note:

If you want to connect this room to Goki Hardware, check this Article - Connect a SmartLock to Your Room.
