Each property has different needs and Goki offers you different PINs, to have a solution in case of specific situations. We have 4 PIN Types in Goki and you can generate them with the help of the Spaces App according to your needs.


General Note


Admin PIN

The Admin PIN is set when we are installing the lock for the first time. You can set one Default Admin PIN from "Preferences" via Spaces App, then if connect locks to rooms all that lock’s admin PIN will be set according to that PIN. Or the Goki will set randomly Admin PIN by itself for each Lock, in the connecting process and you can Update it any Time from the Locks Details.


Pre-Conditions

  • Make sure you are close to the lock, the Lock screen is on, and have a stable internet connection.

  • Pay attention to have Bluetooth and location turned on.


Note

  • This Pre-conditions are only needed in the process of updating the Admin PIN. You do not need them to set Default Admin PIN.


Steps to Set Default Admin PIN

  1. Open Spaces App

  2. Open Spaces App Menu from the left sidebar

  3. Find "preferences"

  4. Press "Default Admin PIN"

  5. Enable the "Set PIN automatically" toggle on

  6. Enter Admin PIN you want, So after you connect the lock to a room Goki will set this PIN Automatically.


Steps to Update Admin PIN

  1. Open the Spaces app.

  2. Select the room you want to update the Admin PIN for and open its page.

  3. Select the "3 dots" in the top right corner.

  4. Select "Admin PIN".

  5. Select your new pin and "Update".

  6. Wait until all steps are completed successfully and then "Close".


Protip

Admin PIN is the main PIN, which is not meant to be known for everybody, only for the staff members, who want to access the doors any time. You can set the same Admin PIN for all Locks, to make them easy to use in urgent situations.


One Time PIN

You can generate One Time PIN from the Spaces app in case of specific situations, when the user is checked out or when they want to change rooms and need to get back to their old room to take their stuff for instance, etc. You can generate One Time PIN from the Gboard too, OTP can be generated remotely, but it can be removed from there only with the help of Gateway.


Pre-conditions

  • The room or common area Should be assigned to a lock


Steps to Generate One-Time PIN

  1. Open the Spaces app.

  2. Select the room you want to generate a One-Time-PIN for.

  3. Select the "PIN" button at the top of the screen.

  4. Click the "+" New PIN button at the bottom of the screen.

  5. Select One Time PIN

  6. Enter a name for the PIN (Optional)

  7. Select the day you want to create the One Time PIN and its validation from "Start Time"

  8. Click the "Next" button


Note

  • You are able to Share the One-Time-PIN or Remove it if needed by tapping on the PIN.


Warning

  • One Time PIN is valid for 6 hours.

  • One Time PIN works only once, if you try for the second time It will not work.

  • While creating OTP you can not choose past time and date.


4 Digit PIN

You can generate a 4 Digit PIN from the Spaces app. You can define it by yourself, you have an opportunity to select any "4 Digit PIN" you want and set the dates. You can Generate and Remove 4 Digit PINs from the Gboard too, but only if the lock is connected to Gateway. Also, it has an option to share in check-in.


Pre-Conditions

  • Make sure you are in close proximity to the lock, the Lock screen is on, and have a stable internet connection.

  • Pay attention to have Bluetooth and location turned on.


Steps to Create 4 Digit PIN

  1. Open the Spaces app.

  2. Select the room you want to create a 4 Digit PIN for.

  3. Select "PINS" at the top of the screen.

  4. Select "+" (New PIN) button

  5. Enter a name for the PIN.

  6. Select the dates and validation you want to create the 4 Digit PIN for, press"next"

  7. Select "4-digit PIN"

  8. Turn the "Share at check-in" toggle on, if you want this pin to be emailed to guests on check-in

  9. Press the "Save" button.


Note

  • You can Generate 4 Digit Pin from the Gboard too, but only if the lock is connected to the Gateway.


Random PIN

You can Generate a Random PIN via the Spaces app in case of specific situations like when someone except guest needs to use this room for some reason and for some time. Also, you can generate it from the Gboard.

The difference between Random PIN and 4 digit PIN is that Goki generates Random PIN by itself and you can not define it, Random PIN is longer than 4 Digit PIN, and you can generate it remotely (No need to be close to the lock).


Steps to Generate Random PIN

  1. Open the Spaces app and select the room you want to create a Random PIN for.

  2. Select the "PINS" section located in the top right corner.

  3. Click the "+" button and select "Random PIN"

  4. Enter the name and click "Next".

  5. Choose the dates and Validation

  6. Press the "Next" button.


Note

  • You are able to Share a Random PIN with others or disable it if needed by tapping on the PIN.

  • You can Generate a Random PIN from the Gboard, but you can Enable/Disable Random pin from the Gboard only with the help of Gateway, if you do not have Gateway you can do it only from the Spaces App.


Reservation PIN

Reservation PIN will be generated automatically when the guests are checked in. (The generate access automation should be on)


Warning:

locks open with any combination that include a valid number inside

In order to make the usage of the lock easier, the lock will accept the valid code even the user type a few numbers by mistake before or after the actual PIN.

It is safe, as long as you choose a safe PIN.

For example, if 5784 is valid, the lock will open with 55784 or 578499, etc
