Each property has different needs, and Goki offers you different PINs to have a solution in specific situations. We have 4 PIN Types in Goki, and you can generate them with the help of the Spaces App according to your needs.
General Note
You must have "Rooms and common area doors" permissions for any PIN actions.
If you want to customize PINs from the Goki dashboard, check this article - PINs in Rooms Settings on G-board.
1. Admin PIN
When installing the SmartLock for the first time, you set an Admin PIN. You can establish a Default Admin PIN through "Preferences" in the Spaces App. When you connect SmartLocks to rooms, each SmartLock's Admin PIN will automatically use this Default Admin PIN. Alternatively, you can set a unique Admin PIN for each SmartLock during the connection process. Additionally, you can update the Admin PIN at any time through the SmartLocks Details section.
Pre-Conditions
Make sure you are close to the SmartLock, the SmartLock screen is on, and you have a stable internet connection.
Pay attention to having Bluetooth and location turned on.
Note
These pre-conditions are only needed in the process of updating the Admin PIN. You do not need them to set the Default Admin PIN.
Steps to Set Default Admin PIN
Open the Spaces App Menu from the left sidebar
Find "preferences"
Press "Default Admin PIN"
Enable the "Set PIN automatically" toggle on
Enter the Admin PIN you want, So after you connect the SmartLock to a room, Goki will set this PIN Automatically.
Steps to Update Admin PIN
Open the Spaces App.
Select the room you want to update the Admin PIN for and open its page.
Select the "3 dots" in the top right corner.
Select "Admin PIN".
Select your new PIN and "Update".
Wait until all steps are completed successfully and then "Close".
Protip
Admin PIN is the main PIN, which is not meant to be known to everybody, only for the staff members who want to access the doors at any time. You can set the same Admin PIN for all SmartLocks, to make them easy to use in urgent situations.
2. One-Time PIN
You can generate a One-time PIN from the Spaces App in specific situations, for example when the user is checked out or when they want to change rooms and return to their old room to take their stuff, for instance, etc. You can generate a One-Time PIN from the Goki dashboard, too. This type of PIN can be generated remotely, but it can be removed only close to the door.
Pre-conditions
The room or common area should be assigned to a SmartLock
Steps to Generate One-Time PIN
Open the Spaces App.
Select the room you want to generate a One-Time-PIN for.
Select the "PIN" button at the top of the screen.

One Time PIN works only once. If you try for the second time, It will not work.
While creating OTP, you can not choose past time and date.
3. 4-Digit PIN
You can generate a 4-digit PIN from the Spaces App. You can define it by yourself; you have an opportunity to select any "4 Digit PIN" you want and set the dates. You can Generate and Remove 4-digit PINs from the Goki dashboard, but only if the SmartLock is connected to GokiAir. Also, it has the option to share in check-in, it comes in handy when using GokiAir, the lock is offline, and this 4-digit PIN will be sent to guests instead (it has no expiry unless you set it while creating).
Pre-Conditions
Make sure you are close to the SmartLock, the SmartLock screen is on, and you have a stable internet connection.
Pay attention to having Bluetooth and location turned on.

Note
You can Generate 4-digit PINs from the Goki dashboard too, but only if the SmartLock is connected to the GokiAir.
We have some limitations regarding creating 4-digit PINs: Each SmartLock can generate and save 140 active 4-digit PINs.
4. Random PIN
You can Generate a Random PIN via the Spaces App in case of specific situations, like when someone except a guest needs to use this room for some reason and for some time. Also, you can generate it from the Goki dashboard.
The difference between a Random PIN and a four-digit PIN is that Goki generates a Random PIN by itself, and you can not define it, a random PIN is longer than 4 Digit PIN, and you can generate it remotely.
Steps to Generate a Random PIN
Open the Spaces App and select the room you want to create a Random PIN for.
Select the "PINS" section located in the top right corner.
Click the "+" button and select "Random PIN."
Enter the name and click "Next".
Choose the dates and Validation.
Press the "Next" button.
Note
You can Share a Random PIN with others or disable it if needed by tapping on the PIN.
You can Generate a Random PIN from the Gboard, but you can Enable/Disable a Random PIN from the Gboard only with the help of GokiAir; if you do not have GokiAir, you can do it only from the Spaces App.
5. Reservation PIN
Reservation PIN will be generated automatically when the guests are checked in (this depends on the generate access automation, as you can define the option of creating the PIN before the reservation starts and you can customize when).
Goki generates shorter 4-digit PINs when the lock is connected to the WiFi.
4-Digit Reservation PINs expire on time when check-out time arrives.
When you change the main room:
If there is a Short guest PIN and the lock is online > The previous PIN doesn't work anymore.
If there is a Short PIN and the lock is offline > The previous PIN works. (It should be deleted automatically later)
In both cases the same common area old and new PIN works.
When you Check out the reservation Earlier:
If there is a Short PIN and the lock is offline > The PIN works in the Main room and common area. (It should be deleted automatically later)
If there is a Short PIN and the lock is online > The PIN doesn't work anymore in the Main room and common area.
When you Cancel the reservation Earlier:
If there is a Short PIN and the lock is online > The PIN doesn't work anymore in the Main room and common area.
If there is a Short PIN and the lock is offline > The PIN works in the Main room and common area. (It should be deleted automatically later)
Note
Generally, Long PIN has a 30-minute tolerance so it might expire around 30 minutes early or late.
If you set the reservation date to the past while the reservation is checked in, the PIN will be marked as expired.
Warning:
SmartLocks open with any combination that includes a valid number inside. To make the usage of the SmartLock easier, the SmartLock will accept the valid code even if the user types a few numbers by mistake before or after the actual PIN. It is safe as long as you choose a safe PIN. For example, if 5784 is valid, the SmartLock will open with 55784 or 578499, etc.
