SmartLock Pro: Offline Mode

In this article we will explain what is offline mode and why it is good to have

Updated over 11 months ago

Locks support offline and online scenarios.

Offline mode means that the Wi-fi connection is very low or disconnected.

Note

Smartlock PRO

  • Needs a 2.4 GHz network.

  • Doesn't support WPA3 WiFi wireless security protocol.

This offline mechanism helps us with unreliable internet connections and guarantees that guests can always access rooms, even in the most remote areas.

But it also has some limitations, such as PINs will be between 6-8 digits long. When a longer PIN is generated, it means it's been generated offline.

Note

If you use Common Area for Offline mode, we suggest you set up a backup PIN and share it at check-in for Common Area SmartLock PRO in case your power is out, or the WiFi is down so guests can still access the rooms.

Please Note

Make Sure SmartLock PRO is connected to the WIFI (from SmartLock PRO's menu > "WIFI" section), and it has a good connection (from SmartLock PRO's menu > "Connection Status."

  • 81-100% Perfect

  • 61-80% Good

  • 41-60% Medium

  • <= 40% Weak

reservation PINs according to Online and Offline mode

When you create the reservation

  • If the lock is online - A short PIN is generated

  • If the lock is offline - A long PIN is generated

  • If the reservation and Common area Lock, both online > a short PIN will be generated, and the same short PIN will be generated for the common area

  • If one of the locks (reservation room lock or Common Area Lock) is offline > the Same Common area PIN won't be generated, and you need to have a Backup PIN.

When you change the main room:

  • If there is a Short guest PIN and the lock is online> The previous PIN no longer works.

  • If there is a Short PIN and the lock is offline> The previous PIN works. (It should be deleted automatically later)

  • In both cases, the same common area old and new PIN works.
