Create Rooms and Beds

When you create a property on Goki, you will need to set up your rooms and beds. This setup with PMS connection and Goki SmartLocks will automate granting access to the rooms. Here is an article on how to create a room from Gboard or Space app.

Requirements:

  1. You need to have Rooms permissions in order to change settings. Please contact your Admin/Property Owner to resolve any possible issues.

  2. Some room settings and functions are only visible once your room has a SmartLock connected.

Rooms Settings

You can manage each room's settings separately. These settings and functions may be exclusive to your room type as well. (For example, Passage Mode only applies to Common Areas.)

How to access Room Customization:

  • The room is connected to the SmartLock

    • Tap on the room to see Room details > Tap on the More(...) option on the top right > Customization

  • The room is NOT connected to the SmartLock

    • Tap on ">" next to the NOT CONNECTED title to see all not connected rooms> Tap on the room to see Room details > More(...) option on the top right > Customization

Rooms Settings options:

Name: You can name your rooms or change the names of your rooms just like on Gboard. Please note that every room needs to have a unique name.

Floor (Optional): You can add the floor number for each room. It will help you to sort rooms by floor.

Ordering (Optional): You can set the value manually and order room however you want. It will help you to sort rooms by order.

Room as Common Area: You are able to use a room as a common area by "setting it as a common area" from the 3 dots option in the room's settings.

Note:

When you set the room as a common area, it will be listed in the common area section if it has a SmartLock, and will have all features which have any other common area door. (You will be able to create 4 digit PIN for it and share with the guests, mark it as a common area for other rooms)

PMS Mapping

  1. Your PMS and Goki are two different independent systems. A room or bed in Goki has no connection to your PMS, even if the names are typed identically.

  2. You can select which PMS room you want to map with Goki room

Note:

Marked common areas will be shown in the guest's Goki App if they are connected to the SmartLock and they will be able to open the door.

  1. Common area

    1. Once you create common areas from the Gboard or Spaces App, they should be marked separately for each room so the guests staying in this room can access these common area SmartLocks.

    2. You can turn the toggle on to assign that common area to this room.

Note:

  1. The room can be set as a common area (when there is another room in the main room), and you can set 4 digit PINs & shared them with the guests who are checked-in in that room.

  2. In the PIN email, once guests are checked in and related automation is on, the guests will also receive the Common Area PIN as well as their room PIN. So the guests will be able to open the door by PIN. Take note, Common Area PINs are shared, meaning each guest uses the same PIN for a Common Area.
